THE EVENT 09

Sr Helen
Sister Helen Prejean during her previous visit to the diocese in 2007

November 14th and 15th 2009, RAINTON MEADOWS ARENA, HOUGHTON LE SPRING

Sr Helen Prejean, the woman behind Dead Man Walking, will be making her return visit to the diocese along with Bud Welch, whose only daughter Julie was killed in the Okalahoma bombing. This began a painful soul searching journey for Bud from anger, rage and resentment to forgiveness and reconciliation.

David Wells from the diocese of Plymouth who is a profound and gifted speaker and communicator will lead us through the day and we will have the chance to hear Abbot Christopher Jamison of Worth Abbey, who featured on the BBC’s programme, The Monastery.
